New part-time master’s programme on Companion Animal Clinical Science at the University of Copenhagen

globeThe Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is now offering a new part-time master’s programme on Companion Animal Clinical Science (CACS) in collaboration with The Danish Veterinary Association. The programme gives experienced practicing veterinarians access to a unique coherent, ECTS rewarding, university-based continuing education programme.

The University of Copenhagen has now opened for applications to the new master’s programme. Deadline is 15 May 2013. Applications will be accepted after the deadline if there are still available seats. Information on application and admissions procedure can be found on the website of the programme (www.cacs.ku.dk). The programme starts in October 2013. The first half of the programme (corresponding to 30 ECTS credits) corresponds to The Danish Veterinary Association’s Certificate in Small Animal Diseases. The CACS programme gives veterinarians with at least 2 years of practical professional experience from companion animal practice a research-based continuing education in applied and advanced veterinary methodology, paraclinical skills and clinical decision-making.

Participants attain specialised knowledge, skills and competences within one of seven specialization tracks – surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, clinical pathology, cardiology, neurology or oncology. Practicing veterinarians therefore for the first time have access to a coherent, ECTS rewarding, university-based continuing education programme that builds directly on The Danish Veterinary Association’s Certificate in Small Animal Diseases.
