Our founding members are those from the second and third year of Veterinary Studies in English and we are aiming to use this group to promote social integration and information sharing, as well as putting together small but significant projects for improvement of every day student life.
As international students in Zagreb, one factor towards making our decision to live here was the opportunity to explore a new part of the world. This has had such a positive impact on us that we would like to offer a similar experience to the local students, by sharing parts of our culture and customs through this organisation.
We are currently busy with our first project in which we aim to develop the resources that the anatomy room can offer our studies. On Thursday 11 th October we began to clean and clear out the student room to enable us to redecorate it with some new additions of interactive anatomical drawings on the walls. We would be absolutely delighted if any of our colleagues could offer input into this, as we continue to improve the room throughout November.
This could include helping to clean and clear the room, or even to share artistic skills or ideas. On completion of our first project, we really hope that the anatomy room will be more welcoming to students and help to enhance their independent study of the subject.
So, we are proud to introduce and extend a warm invitation to all members of the Veterinary Faculty to be a part of our international students’ society – The Vet Society!
If anyone wishes to get involved with our organisation or our projects, please contact our president Olivia Kaloyianni – vet.society@vef.hr
